Investment by Montreal Start Up
It's now official, as was reported in GigaOm ("Identi.ca Gets Funding To Make Open-source Twitter Variant"): venture investor Montreal Start Up is leading a small group of private investors in Control Yourself, Inc. (CYI) This investment will help CYI build the Identi.ca software into the Open Source foundation of a federated network of public and private microblogging sites.
I'm really excited to be working with MSU to grow this business. They've been hugely supportive of our Open Source strategy for the Identica platform, and we''ve put most of our success metrics around growing the development group, getting more installations, and growing the OpenMicroBlogging network. I'm really glad to have investors who support our Open-Source, open-standards project.
You can follow @msu on Identi.ca if you'd like to know more about what's going on with them.
