StatusCampMontreal Evan Speaking

We had a blast during our #StatusWeek in Montreal with the whole StatusNet crew in Montreal. We had two days of internal meetings to set up the future of the project and to actually physically meet all together. There were many outcomes of this meeting which will be talked about more soon.

Then on Friday, we launched our new StatusCamp event with StatusCampMontreal. StatusCamps are unconferences to bring developers, users and enthusiasts conneted to StatusNet or the topics around StatusNet and Identi.ca, to discuss and hack on StatusNet. Some 25+ people showed up on a cold day in Montreal to a great event kicked off by Evan talking about status of StatusNet, and outlining a vision for where development and the project is heading.

We then plowed onto many topics, which there is documentation for each of the 12 sessions:

And, with this successful event, we brewed up a nice recipe so you can start your own StatusCamp in your own city!

In 2010, I will be working with everyone in the community to grow and create more StatusCamps around the world to work on StatusNet, and related topics in a nice unconference fashion. Right now, we have interest to create StatusCamps in San Francisco, Paris, and Bangalore, early in 2010. Stay tuned!

We want to get more StatusCamp's started in your city. If you are interested, please stat check out the wiki page, and then please do contact me, jon@status.net.
