FOSDEM 2010 Talk
I'll be talking about StatusNet and Identi.ca at the upcoming FOSDEM 2010 event in Brussels, Belgium on the weekend of February 6-7 2010. The talk's title is Inside StatusNet: How Identi.ca Works, and here's the abstract:
The Open Source microblogging server, StatusNet, drives thousands of sites around the Web. One of the most popular is the original, Identi.ca, with over 120,000 users. Founder and lead developer of the StatusNet project and CEO of StatusNet, Inc., Evan Prodromou will discuss the deep internals of the StatusNet, tell stories about how the identi.ca site has scaled, and forecast the future of Open Source and distributed microblogging on the Web.
Jon and I are planning out a casual StatusNet-based meetup synchronized with the event (we call them StatusChecks). If you're coming to FOSDEM, make sure to keep an eye on statuscamp.org as we flesh out the plans. If you weren't sure about coming to FOSDEM... here's one more reason why you should go.
