Using Seesmic for Android with StatusNet
The Seesmic clients have built up a reputation for having great UIs and performance. Their support across multiple desktop and mobile platforms is impressive, not to mention support for multiple social networks.
The Seesmic Android client released yesterday has support for alternate Twitter API endpoints, meaning that you can use the program with StatusNet sites. I've been using it as my primary mobile client for the last 24 hours, and I'm impressed with the ease of use and rich feature set.
To try out using a StatusNet account, click "Advanced" when creating a new account, and add the API endpoints for your StatusNet site. (For Identi.ca, for example, use "https://identi.ca/api/").
I think this is an awesome first step, and we're looking forward to working with Seesmic in the future to make the interface smoother.
Update: there's a post on the Seesmic blog about using other services like StatusNet, Tumblr, and WordPress.

Great
I'm really pleased to see Seesmic now working with StatusNet - many people are curious to know how both open and proprietary vendors can co-operate and complement each other in a sustainable way - I'm sure this will be a valuable case study of how to do so in the years to come.
thanks Evan, we will improve the integration soon
and also add it to all our products!
BlackBerry
Unfortunately, there's no Advanced option on Seesmic for BlackBerry. You can, however, use ÜberTwitter – the most popular Twitter client for BlackBerry device – with StatusNet. See http://status.net/wiki/Apps#BlackBerry.
