Scheduled downtime for some StatusNet cloud sites 16 Nov 2011 10PM EST

Over the last month, I've been gradually moving sites on the StatusNet cloud service to our new platform on the Rackspace Cloud. Side note: we've used almost every virtual server system in existence, and I can say without qualms that Rackspace Cloud is the best by far. I'm a big fan, and I'm glad we're making this move.

All of our StatusNet OnDemand (= new private service launched this year, one site per email domain) sites have been moved, and thousands of our StatusNet Cloud (= older single-user, community, and private sites) have been moved one-by-one.

The last few tens of thousands (about 28,000),  will be moved in bulk to the new service. Downtime should be a few hours, plus whatever time it takes for DNS changes to propagate.

(Identi.ca will remain where it is, for the time being.)

Update (17 Nov 2011 10:30AM EDT): I flaked and didn't start this process till this morning. Sites on our main db server are now disabled.
