I'm going to be in Washington, DC for the upcoming Government 2.0 Camp, so let's take the occasion to have a dentevent (Identi.ca users' meetup) in the nation's capital.
I've been looking around for the perfect time and location to do the Austin "Dent Event." But I've finally realized just about any time is a great time for a Dent Event. We have a nifty location (suggestion of @frankenspock). Let's do it on Monday, March 16th at 7:00 PM (CST) at The Creekside Lounge: 606 E 7th St. Look for an Identi.ca sign, or me wearing an Identi.ca t-shirt (@zach).
I'm really happy to announce that the developer outreach guy for Control Yourself -- me @zach (Zach Copley) -- will be attending SXSW Interactive (March 13-17). I'm also hoping to hit BarCamp Austin on Saturday, the 14th.

Identi.ca will be upgraded to a pre-release version 0.7.2 of the Laconica software tonight, 11 Mar 2009, at 10PM EDT. We think the upgrade can happen without taking the site down, so it should be relatively seamless, but we'll announce any downtime when/if it happens.
A release version 0f 0.7.2 should be on the Laconica site sometime tomorrow (12 Mar 2009).
It's official! We'll be having a "Dent Event" on Sunday, March 8th at 4PM at Rick's Tavern on Main in Santa Monica, California. This is the first ever Identi.ca get-together in the Southland, so it should be a lot of fun; all interested parties are welcome. Rick's is at 2907 Main St, Santa Monica. Look for the Identica logo on T-shirts or a sign.
Last Saturday, Laconica enthusiasts from all over the San Francisco Bay Area (as well as a couple from as far away as Montréal and Portland) got together at Berkeley Coworking to add new features to Laconica, fix bugs, network, and generally have a good time.

Right on the heels of the Portland Dent Event, we'll have a San FranciscoDent Event on Tuesday, February 24th at 7PM at the Edinburgh Castle, 950 Geary Street. The EC serves fish and chips till 11 and lots of nice beers. Lots of your favorite Identica characters will be there (including me), so come and join us.
We're having the first PortlandDent Event at the Green Dragon Bistro and Brewpub, 928 SE 9th St. on Sunday, Feb 22 at 4PM. Dent Events are meetups of Identica users, developers, and afficionados, and since I'll be in Portland for the RecentChangesCamp unconference, I thought I'd get folks together to talk.
I'm glad to say that we've just released version 0.7.0 ("Rockville") of Laconica for download. Users of Identi.ca have been working with the software since we launched the pre-release version last week at MBC09, and we've shaken out a lot (but not all!) of the most important bugs. This has been a huge change to the codebase, with a lot of new user-visible changes.
Groups. Probably the most visible change for users, and the most interesting for us.
