Notes on Developing the StatusNet Desktop Client

I'm leading up the project to develop a set of open source StatusNet clients for all the major desktop and mobile platforms -- Linux, Mac, and Windows, on the desktop and iPhone, Android, and Blackberry on the mobile side. We've chosen Titanium, an open source rapid applications development system that leverages web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build native applications for each of these platforms.

StatusNet for Twitter developers

I'm Zach Copley (@zach) the developer relations manager at StatusNet. I'd like to take a few minutes to reach out to developers of third party clients and services in the Twitter ecosystem.

OSCON Dent Event 21 July 2009 5:00 PM

@evan and I are in San Jose for OSCON and naturally we're calling a dent event. Time: tomorrow night at 5:00 PM. Location: Gordon Biersch at 33 E San Fernando St, a short walk from the San Jose Convention Center. Gordon Biersch has tasty beer and upscale pub grub. No need to be an OSCON attendee to come to the Dent Event, all identi.ca users and other interested parties are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!

Control Yourself at SF Web 2.0 Expo + SF Dent Event

I (@zach) will be at the San Francisco Web 2.0 Expo on April 1st and 2nd, hanging out at the Expo Hall tradeshow when I'm not attending the Web2Open unconference or other interesting Expo events. It would be great to meet you in person to talk about Identi.ca / Laconica / OpenMicroBlogging. Send me a dent or an email: zach [at] controlyourself <dot> ca.

I'm also having a San Francisco Dent Event at 6:00 PM Thursday night.

Austin Dent Event Monday 16, March

I've been looking around for the perfect time and location to do the Austin "Dent Event." But I've finally realized just about any time is a great time for a Dent Event. We have a nifty location (suggestion of @frankenspock). Let's do it on Monday, March 16th at 7:00 PM (CST) at The Creekside Lounge: 606 E 7th St. Look for an Identi.ca sign, or me wearing an Identi.ca t-shirt (@zach).

Control Yourself at SXSW

I'm really happy to announce that the developer outreach guy for Control Yourself -- me @zach (Zach Copley) -- will be attending SXSW Interactive (March 13-17). I'm also hoping to hit BarCamp Austin on Saturday, the 14th.

If you're also attending "South By" I'd love to meet you and talk Identi.ca / Laconica / OpenMicroBlogging and whatever else is exciting at the time. Send me a dent or an email to get together for a chat.

News from the SF East Bay Laconica Hackfest

Last Saturday, Laconica enthusiasts from all over the San Francisco Bay Area (as well as a couple from as far away as Montréal and Portland) got together at Berkeley Coworking to add new features to Laconica, fix bugs, network, and generally have a good time.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 people turn

iPhone clients for Identi.ca

We're happy to see a nice application ecosystem steadily growing around Identi.ca, including a number of great Identi.ca clients for the iPhone (which also work with the iPod Touch). A frequently asked question on Identi.ca is, what Identi.ca clients are there for the iPhone? Here's a rundown of what's available.
