It would be nice if a laconi.ca-server (e.g. server_a) can subscribe to an other server (like identi.ca) to receive its dents.
The foreign dents on server_a could look like this: "user@server_a this is my message".
Now you could be part of identi.ca but your dents would also be visible on other laconi.ca servers (if they subscribed to identi.ca).
A user only needs to sign up to identi.ca but his/her words would be spread out to more servers/users.

This is a main feature of laconica, thanks to OpenMicroBlogging. Check for example http://army.twit.tv/main/remote?nickname=terryh.

But if I understood that correctly you can subscribe to a signle user on a different server. But you can't post on a different servers timeline. With OpenID I still have to "join" the other server. I thought it would be nice if the server handels all the interaction. There are some local laconi.ca servers and the main "identi.ca". It would be nice if the local laconi.ca server instances would get all dents from the parent (identi.ca) without any interaction of the users. Only the server adimin has to "subscribe" to identi.ca's timeline.
