I'm not sure if anything can be done to force wrapping behavior here, but it's hit me a number of times; at the font size used on the mobile style, many URLs get cut off the screen rather quickly -- this can cut off the human-readable article title in WordPress blog links, Wikipedia links, Ars technica article links, etc.
Not a big deal on a desktop where you can click it and quickly load it, but if you're on a crappy EDGE network with flaky connectivity, you don't want to navigate away to a page just to find out what it was about.
Note that this is exacerbated on individual message view -- the font is so large you probably won't make it through the domain name. :)

Not much of an issue anymore; since iPhone OS 3 the browser has supported a long-click menu on URLs which shows the full URL and includes copy/paste options etc, as well as 'open in new window' so it can be loaded without killing the old page.
