API search that should return no results, returns full result set instead

Using the Twitter API on identi.ca to search for a word that does not exist in the database results in a full set of notices being returned.

For example, the following search "http://identi.ca/api/search.json?&q=thisshouldnotreturnanything" returns 20 recent notices, and none of them contain the search term.

NOTE: This is not happening on army.twit.tv running 0.7.2.1.
