At present user icons are shown as-is on the map, i.e. square pictures. It would be nice to have them shown in custom markers that look like one of the status.net bubbles, with the tail pointing at the precise location.

It might require some image processing to have the user icon appear neatly in the white space in the middle of the bubbles; alternatively I suppose you could have a squarish bubble that got overlaid around the icon, which might be easier.

That'd be a fun extra! Probably not too hard to paste avvys into a bubble image, though square peg / round hole issues may appear. Rounded rect might be a good compromise.
