i'd like to have different reveal levels for what i see when i go to identica home:
1. public timeline (everything)
2. everyone i follow (+@replies to me)
3. my fav denticats (ie just a selected group that I follow).
reason: i don't like following too many people because the signal to noise ratio gets so high. but i would still like a way to follow some people's whose dents i don't have to see often. that way i can follow more people but not have all of them drown out the fewer connections that i prefer to see.
it would "just" take a "favourite" button next to your subscriptions, a way to track that in the user db, and then some UI that lets me filter out the noise [eg, see favourites only].
does that make sense?

Yes. I think the user tagging in 0.6.3 will get us part of the way there; we need to support filtering the inbox for tagged users.
#2
Hugh: would tagging your favorite users "favorite" and having a stream of users who have that tag be sufficient?
