iOS shows "Loading..." but no timeline w/ StatusNet 1.0.0rc1 hosted

iOS shows "Loading..." but no timeline w/ StatusNet 1.0.0rc1 hosted

Issue ID:3445
Issue Category:bug
Component:mobile clients
Priority:major
Status:active
Assigned:Unassigned
Version:1.0

The iOS client freezes with a message "Loading" and does not show messages from the timeline for a free "hosted" StatusNet account. This was tested as of v1.0.6 of the iOS client and v1.0.0rc1 of StatusNet (hosted at status.net).

The iOS client works properly (as in the "Loading..." message appears, then goes away as expected, and timeline posts show up) with a self-hosted version of StatusNet 0.9.7.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

* Create a free, hosted status.net subdomain
* Log in to the new StatusNet site, create some test posts on the timeline
* Download v1.0.6 of the iOS client
* attempt to log in using the "admin" credentials created for the .status.net account
* Notice how the timeline is blank, and the "Loading..." message at the bottom of the screen does not go away.

COMPARE:
* Install StatusNet 0.9.7 on a self-hosted server
* Perform the above steps
* Timeline posts show up, and the "Loading..." message goes away after a brief delay

NOTES:
* The self-hosted StatusNet server was NOT running over https, whereas the hosted one (*.status.net) was.

I'm having the same issue on iOS. Running a self-hosted 1.0.1 StatusNet instance and the timeline in the iOS client is blank.
