I was annoyed with the constant question of supplying my location, so in Firefox I went to about:config to set:
geo.enabled=false
This disables the question, however StatusNet seems to stop loading/running javascripts required for posting when this is set.
When never getting the "supply location" question, the remaining character counter doesn't update and when replying to a post, instead it becomes a new post.
