Option to receive DMs from anyone

We already have an option to receive replies from users we are not subscribed to:
"Send me replies through Jabber/GTalk from people I'm not subscribed to."

But we lack the same to DMs, which currently only allow from subscribed users.

If we do this, spammers could DM you... and they would :-)

Hence, this idea has been rejected.

spammers can dent to you, reply to you, email you, heck even call your home.
Are we going to limit a great way to allow valid users to contact each other just because of the risk of spam? if so lets end with email, and the all µblogging.
If there's a spammer the user can BLOCK him as anyone already does on public timeline, plus StatusNet? servers admins should deal with this spammers in a timely way to prevent mass spamming (in any form , public or private).

Please reconsider re-opening this ticket and this implementation.
