Installation

Emblem-important-red.svg.png Early-access beta users: You need to uninstall your beta version before installing the newer release; this means you'll have to re-add your account settings the first time you launch the new version.

You can find and install StatusNet Mobile free of charge through the Android Market on most devices. This is the recommended installation method, and will ensure that you'll be notified of software updates.

Find the Market icon in your apps list and open it:

Search for "StatusNet"! Market-search.png Market-page.png
Hit "install" and confirm the permissions the app needs to run:

The Market will download and install the app in the background, and show a notification icon when it's ready. Open it up!

If you get a popup saying "Application restart required" on the first open, that's ok. Let it restart this once, and it won't happen again!

The first time you run, you'll be prompted to add settings for your account on a StatusNet server. In most cases the server name need only be the bare domain, like "identi.ca" or "mozilla.status.net":

If you have accounts on multiple servers, you'll be able to add them too later and switch between them at will. App-accountlist.png App-timeline.png

Uninstall

Like any other app, you can remove the StatusNet app through Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications.
