- Our students for the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) have come up with updates on the progress of their work for StatusNet. - Another one of the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) projects was an IRC interface plug-in basics. StatusNet is currently working on extending it to offer commands from channels not just private messages. Follow the IRC (and MSN) plugin work.

- Coming up on Sunday, August 1, 2010, is the GNU social Alpha release. GNU social is a social network, based on StatusNet, that uses a series of plug-ins, themes and templates to deliver on top of the StatusNet foundation.
