[edit] Assets

I'm proud to have made this video with free software only:

Most images were created by me using Inkscape or inside Synfig Studio, others come from openclipart.org (that one is integrated into Inkscape btw!!! File -> Import from OCAL), I took the display from the great Tango Desktop Project, the cursors are jimmacs work, the font is Titillium (OFL licenced), the track "Overhead" is from Professor Kliq of course!

Soon I'll link to the complete project files here.

[edit] Workflow

As I mentioned before I only used free software: Inkscape, Synfig Studio, Kdenlive, Audacity, GIMP of course on Ubuntu!

  1. first thing I did was to draw sketches of the frames and scanned them
  2. with a clear picture in mind what was needed I started creating/gathering the sources in Inkscape
  3. with the material at hand I created the needed sequences and in Synfig Studio and rendered them to png image sequences
  4. I recorded and edited the spoken text and exported each paragraph as separate audiofile
  5. in Kdenlive I put everything together: some still images, the rendered sequences, voice and the music.
